Volleyball

Volleyball is starting soon! It will begin in the middle of October so you can have some excercise before all the candy from Halloween. Grades 6 and 7 will be eligible. Volleyball requires an emormous amount of teamwork, so it might be a good idea to make some efficient strageties with your teammates. First, you and your team will have to play against a couple of other schools. If your team is good enough, they will be allowed to play in the playoffs. The playoffs is where the best schools of the best in Vancouver will play against each other. From there, your team will have to play likes theres no tomorrow and if your team wins, you will be hailed as one of the best volleyball players of Vancouver. Make your school proud David Lloyd George.

Cross country

Cross country is starting very soon! Students from grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 are eligible. Cross country is a sport that requires you to run large distances. This means it requires a tremendous amount of stamina not just physically but also mentally. There will be practises in the morning and after school. In cross country races, many schools will walk or be driven to a meeting area where the schools will participate in a long-distance race (parents can sign up to help drive). Each race will be catagorized through grades and gender. For example: grade 5 boys will race before the grade 5 girls start. The top 25 or 10 will be handed a ribbon while the top 3 also get a medal. The good thing is that the other racers that participated will be given a participaion ribbon for the effort.

Family Tech Night

The Medium is delighted to help run the Family Tech Night at David Lloyd George Elemtary School near the beginning of October. There will be presentations about technologies all around the school. For any further information, feel free to go to the DLG's website and The Medium's website.
